About Emerald
Emerald is the green variety of beryl, a beryllium aluminium silicate coloured by chromium and sometimes vanadium. Colour is the dominant value factor, judged on hue, tone and saturation. Most emerald contains inclusions, traditionally called the jardin, which are accepted as part of the character of the stone. You can read more via gemmological reference, mineral data.
Emerald requires an unusual pairing: beryllium, which is rare in the crust, must meet chromium or vanadium, which normally occur in entirely different rock types. That geochemical accident happens only where tectonic activity forces the two together, which is why emerald deposits are few and widely scattered.
Why You Will Love This Specimen
💎 Natural Crystal Habit
The specimen displays well-formed crystal faces and structural lines typical of raw beryl, offering an honest look at how this mineral develops in nature.
✨ Display Ready Specimen
Uncut and unpolished, this piece sits well in a mineral cabinet or on an open shelf where its form can be appreciated from multiple angles.
🔷 Geological Provenance
Sourced from Swat, Pakistan, this mineral specimen carries the characteristic appearance associated with material originating from this notable region.
📦 Exactly What Is Pictured
The photographs and video show this specimen. You receive the specimen pictured, not a lookalike.
Popular Uses
Emerald is used across fine jewellery, from solitaire rings to pendants and earrings. Because it is more included than corundum, protective settings such as bezels are often preferred for pieces that will be worn frequently. Specimens like this are collected and displayed rather than set into jewellery.

Frequently Asked Questions
How big is this specimen?
It measures 45.6 x 27.5 x 34.8 mm and weighs 39.7 grams. Those figures were taken from this piece, so use them rather than judging scale from the photographs.
How should I display this mineral specimen?
Place the crystal on a stable mineral mount inside a dedicated display cabinet away from direct sunlight. Good directional lighting will help highlight the natural colour and surface texture of the beryl.
Is this specimen suitable for handling?
The crystal has a high hardness on the Mohs scale, making it durable for a mineral specimen, but natural crystals can still have fragile edges. Handle it gently with clean fingers or padded mineral tongs.
Why is the crystal uncut?
Mineral specimens are collected and displayed in their natural state to preserve the geological formation and crystal habit. Cutting or polishing removes the historical record of how the mineral grew in the rock.
How do I clean dust from the crystal?
Use a soft dry artist brush to gently sweep away dust from the faces of the crystal. Avoid soaking the specimen in harsh chemicals or exposing it to sudden temperature changes.
How long does delivery take, and can I return it?
We contact you directly as soon as your order is placed to arrange delivery, so you always know where the parcel is. Returns are accepted within 7 days of the date you receive the item.
Are your stones natural, or are any of them synthetic?
Everything we sell is 100% natural. We do not deal in synthetic or laboratory-grown material, and we do not hide anything about a piece: the photographs are shot to show every detail, including the ones a seller might prefer you did not see.
Will I receive the specimen in the photographs?
Yes. Each specimen is listed on its own and the photographs were shot from this exact piece. Once it sells the listing comes down.
