About Emerald
Emerald is the green variety of beryl, a beryllium aluminium silicate coloured by chromium and sometimes vanadium. Colour is the dominant value factor, judged on hue, tone and saturation. Most emerald contains inclusions, traditionally called the jardin, which are accepted as part of the character of the stone. You can read more via gemmological reference, mineral data.
Emerald requires an unusual pairing: beryllium, which is rare in the crust, must meet chromium or vanadium, which normally occur in entirely different rock types. That geochemical accident happens only where tectonic activity forces the two together, which is why emerald deposits are few and widely scattered.
Why You Will Love This Specimen
๐ Uncut crystal habit
The piece displays the original faces and structure formed during its growth, making it a genuine addition for cabinet displays.
โจ Geological origin
Originating from Swat, Pakistan, this material carries the characteristic visual traits associated with classic tectonic formations.
๐ท Specimen display
Position this crystal on a mineral mount or inside a dedicated display case to properly appreciate the raw mineral structure.
๐ฆ Exactly What Is Pictured
The photographs and video show this specimen. You receive the specimen pictured, not a lookalike.
Popular Uses
Emerald is used across fine jewellery, from solitaire rings to pendants and earrings. Because it is more included than corundum, protective settings such as bezels are often preferred for pieces that will be worn frequently. Specimens like this are collected and displayed rather than set into jewellery.

Frequently Asked Questions
How big is this specimen?
It measures 41.4 x 29.7 x 25.9 mm and weighs 39.5 grams. Those figures were taken from this piece, so use them rather than judging scale from the photographs.
How should I display this crystal specimen?
Place the piece in a dedicated mineral cabinet using a clear acrylic mount that supports the base securely. Keep the display away from bright windows to protect the rich green coloration over time.
Is this mineral durable enough for handling?
This species sits high on the Mohs scale, meaning it resists scratching from most common household objects. However, raw specimens can still fracture along internal planes if dropped onto a hard surface, so handle with care.
What causes the green colour in this beryl?
Trace amounts of chromium and vanadium present during the crystal's formation deep within the rock matrix create the characteristic green shade. These natural impurities vary across the specimen, producing depth and visual interest.
How do I clean dust from an uncut mineral?
Use a soft dry artist brush or a gentle puff of air to remove surface dust from the crevices of the crystal faces. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive cloths which might dull the natural lustre.
How long does delivery take, and can I return it?
We contact you directly as soon as your order is placed to arrange delivery, so you always know where the parcel is. Returns are accepted within 7 days of the date you receive the item.
Are your stones natural, or are any of them synthetic?
Everything we sell is 100% natural. We do not deal in synthetic or laboratory-grown material, and we do not hide anything about a piece: the photographs are shot to show every detail, including the ones a seller might prefer you did not see.
Will I receive the specimen in the photographs?
Yes. Each specimen is listed on its own and the photographs were shot from this exact piece. Once it sells the listing comes down.
